Provide evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process, across various critical and acute care units within the St. Elizabeth Healthcare system. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process for comprehensive patient care, counseling, and health teaching
- Maintain current skills, knowledge, and competencies in specialty areas using evidence-based practice
- Document care provided using Epic, Patient Data Base, and other relevant forms
- Exhibit critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care
- Serve as the patient's advocate
- Supervise, teach, mentor, and delegate to licensed and unlicensed personnel
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to plan and deliver care
- Administer medication and treatment as prescribed, observing and reporting responses
- Contact appropriate Management/Administrative Staff as needs arise
- Participate in unit-based PI activities to impact patient outcomes and monitor quality of care
Requirements
- Graduate from accredited School of Nursing
- Licensed to practice in Kentucky and Indiana
- 18-month minimum clinical nursing experience
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification
- Current advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool 6 (BKAT-6) exam for Critical Care nurses (if applying to Critical Care Pool)
- Pass EKG strip exam with a minimum score of 80% and 100% passing score of all life-threatening dysrhythmias (if applying to Critical Care Pool)
Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited School of Nursing
- 18-month minimum clinical nursing experience
