About This Role

As a Retirement Plan Specialist, you will learn to administer, test, and report on 401(k) plans, ensuring compliance and supporting clients with their annual reporting and government filings.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients to obtain necessary information for annual reporting
  • Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy
  • Reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software
  • Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting
  • Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process
  • Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software
  • Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and plan documents
  • Share knowledge and explain complex topics simply
  • Perform training on concepts for a Retirement Plan Administrator I

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach to problem solving
  • Skills in customer service, organization, and collaboration
  • Adequate math and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in an autonomous environment
  • Ability to create an inclusive workplace
  • Must pass a background check
  • Meet work from home requirements (designated workspace, reliable high-speed internet)

Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (business, finance, etc.) or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Entry level position

Nice to Have

  • Basic knowledge of 401(K) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL Regulations
