About This Role

Provide a safe and therapeutic environment for residents through medication management, recreation, and facility oversight, supporting their journey toward independence. This role involves direct resident support, maintaining facility standards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor residents to assure a safe therapeutic environment
  • Cover nonclinical psychoeducational groups as needed
  • Observe peer-led activities
  • Provide transportation when needed
  • Conduct room and personal belonging searches for safety
  • Conduct urine toxicology screens as scheduled or randomly
  • Provide conflict management to residents as needed
  • Supervise meal preparation by clients to ensure sanitation, safety & nutritional standards are met
  • Maintain cleanliness of facility, including assigning and checking chores
  • Debrief relevant information to incoming employees during shift exchange and conduct visible rounds
  • Carry out emergency procedures to ensure the safety of residents and staff
  • Conduct monthly fire drills
  • Engage security system
  • Provide medication observation and monitoring utilizing established protocols in absence of LPN coverage
  • Complete and maintain all necessary documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License
  • Two years of experience in human services, crisis intervention, residential setting, or emergency services

Qualifications

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in human services or related field preferred.
  • Two years of experience in the human services field, crisis intervention, residential setting, or emergency services.

Nice to Have

  • Associate’s degree in human services or related field
  • Knowledge of homeless client issues
  • Experience with conflict resolution techniques
