Resident Assistant - Personal Care

About This Role

The Resident Assistant provides hands-on personal care to residents, supporting their health, safety, and daily well-being while encouraging engagement in activities. This role contributes to maintaining a comfortable and dignified environment for all residents at Garden Spot Village.

Responsibilities

• Comply with established policies, procedures, and standards, including the Compliance Program/Code of Conduct
• Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times and treat all resident information as confidential
• Report any unusual observations or conditions to the Med Tech or LPN on duty
• Encourage residents to remain active and attend social functions and programs; assist with activity programs as needed
• Support residents with personal care, including bathing, continence care, oral hygiene, hair grooming, dressing, and ambulation
• Assist with new resident admissions, including unpacking, orientation, and explanation of activities and meal schedules
• Respond promptly to resident call bells and assist at meal times according to departmental policy
• Take and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, and accu-checks
• Attend department meetings, staff meetings, and training programs, assisting in peer training as needed
• Practice safety for self and residents, reporting any unsafe conditions to the Med Tech or LPN

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire)
• Diabetic Training (or willingness to obtain after hire)
• Commitment to customer service and teamwork
• Must rotate shifts and work weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Willingness to work during emergency conditions and overtime as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience in healthcare or related field
