This role will support research initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting neurocognitive and psychological data, contributing to study design and providing clinical consultation. The Research Psychologist/Neuropsychologist will assist in developing research protocols and managing regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of research protocols as the subject matter expert
- Review research documentation and provide detailed technical written notes
- Direct and perform recurring analyses on research portfolios to identify critical gaps, exceptional results, and/or lack of progress
- Manage and organize data and ensure necessary archival procedures have been conducted
- Maintain open communication with the Principal Investigator, advise of processes, report progress, and serve as a point of contact
- Provide guidance to scientists preparing research proposals and abstracts/posters/manuscripts, including guidance on research protocol development
- Perform scientific reviews on research proposals submitted for consideration
- Maintain and update files of all applicable regulatory documentation for IRB (including protocols, approvals, amendments, modifications, etc.)
- Collect neurocognitive, psychological, and other relevant clinical data using standardized assessment tools and research protocols
- Administer, score, and interpret neuropsychological and psychological assessments for research purposes
- Analyze and synthesize research data to support study objectives and conclusions
- Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant research records and databases
- Provide technical consultation and expertise in psychology/neuropsychology to research teams and stakeholders
- Contribute to the development, refinement, and validation of research protocols and assessment methodologies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, researchers, and data analysts
- Assist in the preparation of research reports, manuscripts, presentations, and grant materials
- Ensure research activities comply with ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies
Requirements
- U.S. Citizen, able to pass security/background checks for access to restricted Federal facilities
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Psychology, Neuropsychology, or a closely related field
- Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication
- Organized, attentive to detail, with a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities and available to interact with employees, clients, and sponsors of all levels
- Ability to exercise independent judgement in fast-paced, high-pressured environment with strict deadlines to manage multiple projects
- Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results
- Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software
- Specialized training or experience in neuropsychological assessment and research methods
- Strong knowledge of neurocognitive and psychological assessment tools
- Experience with clinical or research data collection and interpretation
- Ability to provide clear technical guidance within a clinical specialty area
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Psychology, Neuropsychology, or a closely related field
- 3-5 years knowledge and experience with Department of War (DoW) Grants and agreements administration and management, and medical research project management experience, preferably with Department of War and Special Operations populations
