Registered Nurse Unit Manager

About This Role

Lead and manage the daily operations of a nursing unit, ensuring high-quality resident care and efficient unit functioning. This role involves supervising staff, implementing policies, and mentoring less experienced nurses.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff and manage unit operations
• Develop, implement, and enforce employee policies and procedures to ensure efficient and compliant care delivery
• Mentor and support less experienced nurses, offering clinical guidance and career development advice
• Establish and uphold standards of care for the unit to ensure resident safety and well-being
• Review resident records and monitor the quality of care provided to ensure accurate and effective treatment plans
• Conduct case reviews and ensure that individualized care plans are consistently followed
• Address inquiries and concerns from residents and their families in a timely and professional manner
• Ensure the unit is adequately stocked with necessary medical supplies to prevent shortages and ensure smooth operations
• Advocate for the unit’s interests to upper management and collaborate in addressing issues as needed

Requirements

• Valid RN License
• Basic computer skills
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in long-term care (preferred), at least 1 year of experience in a Unit Manager role (preferred)
