Registered Nurse RN - Patient Care Administrator

About This Role

This Patient Care Administrator (RN) role is crucial for ensuring quality patient care by managing Patient Care Service activities and facilitating smooth patient flow within Central Maine Healthcare during assigned shifts.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently facilitate patient throughput using effective communication, resource utilization, and strong clinical decision-making skills
• Oversee the placement of all patient admissions and transfers via the Capacity Management Bed Board
• Update and collaborate with the Administrator on-call and relevant department leadership
• Assign and continuously monitor staff to optimize utilization
• Provide clinical support to all patient care units as required
• Represent Hospital/Nursing Administration in their absence
• Lead Incident Command when an Administrator or designee is unavailable
• Serve as a role model through professional behavior and open communication, fostering strong interpersonal relationships
• Lead all bed huddles during the scheduled shift and participate in necessary leadership meetings

Requirements

• Current licensure in the state as a registered professional nurse
• Current Licensure from the Maine State Board of Nursing
• A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor’s program
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a staff nurse
• Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrates interpersonal relationships that enhance communication, promote conflict resolution, and facilitate staff development
• Basic computer knowledge
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge to sustain and evaluate competence in the care of patients in various clinical settings

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited nursing school, holds current licensure as a registered professional nurse, and has a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or is currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program.
• Minimum of 2 years, preferred 5 years’ experience as a staff nurse. Clinical Patient Care Administrator (RN) or Nursing Leadership experience Preferred, With Demonstrated Leadership Abilities.
