Deliver evidence-based nursing care to maternal and child patients, focusing on labor and delivery, mother/baby couplet care, high-risk antepartum, and newborn nursery care. Collaborate with healthcare teams and educate patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing practices according to up-to-date evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care
- Provide safe and excellent individualized patient care
- Communicate ongoing status, rendered care, and treatment plans with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members
- Administer medication utilizing bar-scanning and documentation technologies
- Document patient assessments, plan-of-care, interventions, and evaluation using Point-of-Care electronic systems
- Educate patients and families on optimizing health, wellness, and disease management
- Perform multi-disciplinary discharging of patients to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care
- Care for Labor and Delivery patients
- Perform Mother/Baby couplet care
- Provide High Risk Antepartum care
- Circulate in the Operating Room
- Provide Newborn Nursery Care
Requirements
- Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license
- BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire
- Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience or active participant in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience or active participant in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
Nice to Have
- Maternal child services experience in a hospital setting including labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and well-baby nursery
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- NRP within 6 months of hire
- Inpatient Obstetrics and/or External Fetal Monitoring Certification
- BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire
