The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care, conducts nursing assessments, and coordinates care for patients and their families in an ambulatory OBGYN setting, adhering to Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing regulations and established care models.
Responsibilities
- Utilize all steps of the nursing process for timely, safe, efficient, and appropriate patient-centered care
- Assess patients and families for overt and covert signs and symptoms inline with clinical nursing practice standards
- Collect pertinent data using appropriate assessment techniques and prioritize data based on patient's immediate condition
- Communicate and document relevant patient care data clearly, concisely, and effectively
- Identify and respond appropriately to emergency/crisis situations, communicating with healthcare team members
- Analyze assessment data to determine appropriate nursing diagnoses using critical thinking skills
- Identify and document individualized, realistic, and measurable patient-centered outcomes in accordance with clinical nursing practice standards
- Provide follow-up care in person, via home visits, or telephone as needed and appropriate
- Document patient's response to interventions and revise diagnoses, outcomes, and plan of care as per departmental policy
Requirements
- Current (within last 3 years) High Risk/MFM experience
- Current (within last 3 years) Outpatient/Ambulatory OB/GYN experience
- Current (within last 3 years) Women's Health telephone triage experience
- OBGYN experience
- High Risk/MFM experience
- Basic computer proficiency
Qualifications
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- Current (within last 3 years) experience in High Risk/MFM, Outpatient/Ambulatory OB/GYN, and Women's Health telephone triage.

- OR/PACU experience
- Antenatal Testing/NST/Fetal Monitoring experience/certification
- Family Planning, OB and High Risk experience

- NST/EFM experience
- Ambulatory OB/GYN experience
- Fetal Monitoring certification
- Multilingual skills
