Assist dentists and dental hygienists in providing primary care dental services, focusing on underserved communities. This role involves direct patient care, sterilization, and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist and dental hygienist in the direct provision of primary care dental services to patients
- Perform sterilization of dental instruments and supplies
- Prepare dental instruments and supplies for procedures
- Control inventory of dental instruments and supplies
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care to underserved communities
Requirements
- Graduate from a California Board-approved RDA education program
- Current California Registered Dental Assistant License (Coronal Polish/X-ray/Sealants)
- Current BLS Certification from American Heart Association
- Infection Control Certificate
- California Dental Practice Act Certificate
- Nitrous Oxide Sedation and Occupational Safety in Dentistry
- Familiarity with dental terminology, instruments, materials and medications used during dental procedures
- Knowledge of professional and ethical standards of health care delivery
- Ability to work outside of normal shifts and on Saturdays
- Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word) and electronic health record data entry
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and graduate from a California Board-approved RDA education program
