Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

About This Role

This role involves working one-on-one with children diagnosed with Autism in a home setting, implementing skill-acquisition goals developed by Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). You will help children acquire new skills through engaging activities and collect data to track their progress.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children diagnosed with Autism in a home setting
• Implement goals written and overseen by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
• Help children acquire new skills utilizing teaching procedures rooted in science
• Create learning environments that are exciting, fun, and motivating
• Provide feedback and collect data related to the program established for each client
• Assist clients with toilet training/needs
• Commute to and from client homes and or clinics within 30 minutes in each direction

Requirements

• Active RBT certification through the BACB
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Willingness to commute to and from client homes and/or clinics within 30 minutes
• Ability and willingness to assist clients with toilet training/needs
• Attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Ability to maintain a positive, open, and objective attitude towards others
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to react quickly and to respond to sudden movements of the client
• Ability to walk and stand 75% of the work day
• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, crawl and sit on the floor throughout the work day or for an extended period of time
• Ability to quickly move short distances (up to 100 ft) to engage with clients

Qualifications

• High School diploma; College degree preferred
• Previous experience working with children. Experience with autism or other intellectual disabilities strongly preferred.
