About This Role

Lead philanthropic revenue generation for a national non-profit focused on youth workforce development, with a focus on major gifts, institutional giving, and corporate partnerships across multiple regions. This role involves developing and executing fundraising strategies, cultivating donor relationships, and building fundraising capacity within site-level teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional fundraising strategies focused on individual giving, private foundations, and corporate partnerships.
  • Build, cultivate, and steward a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects across the northeast, focusing on current sites in New York City and the National Capital Region.
  • Achieve annual assigned fundraising goals in both New York City and National Capital Region sites, with fundraising effort divided roughly equally between the two.
  • Ensure alignment of fundraising strategy at each site with the broader growth and partner stewardship strategy in collaboration with the Executive Director.
  • Align regional efforts with national campaigns and priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with site-level Executive Directors and development staff to support local fundraising initiatives and donor engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with fundraising standards, donor data integrity, and organizational policies.
  • Lead relationship management for regional donors, ensuring personalized stewardship and impact communication.
  • Represent Genesys Works at donor meetings, events, and networking opportunities.
  • Support donor pipeline development through prospect research, cultivation strategies, and partnership building.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to site teams, helping to build fundraising capacity and shift focus toward individual giving.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to site-level development staff.
  • Coordinate with the National Development Team to share best practices, tools, and resources while building both the regional and national fundraising pipelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive fundraising experience
  • Strong track record in individual giving and major gifts
  • Proven success in building donor relationships and securing philanthropic support from individuals, foundations, and corporations across a regional (multi-state) landscape
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills
  • Experience navigating a multi-site or national non-profit structure with the ability to drive growth in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to travel regionally and occasionally nationally
  • Commitment to the mission of Genesys Works and advancing equity through workforce development

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive fundraising experience, with a strong track record in individual giving and major gifts.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with CRM systems and donor engagement platforms
  • Based in either the New York City metro or the National Capital Region
