About This Role

Assist in coordinating and executing a variety of Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Community Recreation programs, including special events, information dissemination, and equipment management for authorized patrons. This role involves customer service, fee collection, and administrative support to enhance leisure activities for the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service, information, and support for Community Recreation programs and activities
  • Check patron eligibility for facilities, resources, and equipment and provide information on offerings
  • Collect fees for sales, rentals, classes, and trips using Point of Sales (POS) and computer programs
  • Account for daily sales transactions and complete Daily Activity Reports (DAR)
  • Assist with processing customer internet and event registrations
  • Check Community Recreation equipment and resources in and out, collect rental fees, and inspect items upon return
  • Conduct inventory, maintain inventory controls, and ensure proper accountability of program equipment
  • Assist in administering traditional and non-traditional workshops, clinics, and events covering various leisure skills
  • Perform day-to-day administration of assigned programs, including event after-action reports and patronage data collection
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, publicizing, marketing, and executing MWR programs and special events
  • Perform entertainment and promotion scheduling and assist in updating electronic and multi-media support tools
  • Develop working partnerships with on-base and off-base organizations to support MWR programs

Requirements

  • Combination of experience related to customer service and or recreation activity based functions
  • Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of goals, principles, techniques, and procedures for organizing and conducting leisure time activities
  • Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and the scope of Community Recreation activities
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain records, compile and organize data for reports, and perform research on recreation topics
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of computers, office procedures and print production
  • Valid state driver's license (must obtain within 90 days of employment)

  • Combination of experience related to customer service and/or recreation activity based functions.
