The Recovery Support Specialist works directly with clients in a non-clinical capacity, providing supervision, encouragement, and support based on 12-step principles to help them in their recovery journey. This role is responsible for enforcing policies, assisting with medication administration, and transporting clients to various appointments.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision of clients
- Enforce policies and procedures for client accountability
- Observe and supervise medication administration, maintaining accurate logs
- Offer clients support and growth opportunities based on 12-Step application
- Serve as an intermediate between clients and their clinicians
- Observe and redirect client behavior that impedes recovery
- Assist with new client admissions process, including property and client searches, paperwork, and EMR uploads
- Assist with client discharge process, including paperwork and EMR uploads
- Attend groups, take notes, and log information into the EMR when necessary
- Transport clients to and from 12-step meetings, medical appointments, and the gym
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Pass State of New Hampshire driving record checks
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Satisfactory drug screen
- Satisfactory criminal background check
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior work experience in a substance abuse facility a plus
Nice to Have
- 12-step recovery knowledge
- Some computer proficiency
