R&D Engineer

About This Role

We are seeking an innovative R&D Engineer to research, develop, and optimize new products, systems, and manufacturing processes for a growing company. This role involves designing and carrying out test plans, and collaborating with engineering and shop personnel.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze data such as specifications and industry standards to determine feasibility of application
• Develop and carry out test plans, supervise process trials internally or at outside laboratories
• Design or develop new products, systems, and test procedures
• Evaluate equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
• Prepare requirement and procedural documentation as required
• Devise new processes, or refine existing ones, to optimize the manufacturing process
• Work with engineering and shop personnel in fabrication of prototype products and development of methods and procedures for testing products

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Science in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or closely related field
• 5+ years prior experience in a related field, industry, or work environment
• Experience with composites, fasteners, or adhesives
• Skills and experience to develop test procedures
• Experience in developing product requirements and documentation
• Experience in coatings synthesis, characterization, and application testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Science in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or closely related field
• 5+ years prior experience in a related field, industry, or work environment
