Radiologic Technologist (R.T.(R.) or LMRT)

About This Role

Provide basic clinical care to patients, performing initial evaluations and urgent care procedures. This role involves performing x-ray testing, patient preparation for medical evaluation, and various laboratory duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic examinations following departmental protocols and physician instructions
• Prepare and position patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring privacy, comfort, and proper shielding
• Operate radiologic equipment safely, adjusting technical factors and positioning as needed to obtain optimal images
• Accurately document and maintain patient records in the radiology information system and/or EMR
• Collaborate with radiologists, providers, nurses, and other team members to support coordinated, efficient care
• Provides timely follow up regarding lab and x-ray results
• Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signs and weight, takes brief history, past medical, family and social history, current medications, allergies, and other pertinent historical information as appropriate
• Administer any medication as ordered by the provider and within your licensure/certification
• Perform CLIA-waived lab test, draw blood and collect and label specimens for any send out labs; Perform DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens and Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT)
• Ensures that equipment is in proper working order and reports any malfunctions to the Center Manager or designee on duty

Requirements

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or be registry eligible and possess a current Iowa license
• Graduate of an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program or LMRT program
