Radar Analog and Power Senior Electrical Engineer

About This Role

Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power system, conversion, and distribution products within the Radar Analog and Power Department. This role involves developing proven designs based on system performance and operational specifications while leading small teams and engaging in technical growth.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with a team of engineers to develop proven designs based on system performance and operational specifications
• Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power system, conversion (and related analog) circuitry and distribution products
• Work to further the department’s mastery of digital power conversion concepts and help develop related best practices
• Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule
• Resolve production issues related to existing product designs
• Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff
• Engage in personal technical growth, and facilitate technical growth in peers
• Lead small teams to success with schedule, budget, and technical execution

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in power system design, power conversion, power distribution, power sub-system design and/or control systems
• Experience in modeling and simulation using PSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar computer-based tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in power system design, power conversion, power distribution, power sub-system design and/or control systems

Nice to Have

• Hardware development experience in a Department of Defense environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead/manage small projects or processes
• Experience generating technical documentation and reports
• Knowledge of test and production methods for electronics/power system components
• Experience interfacing with procurement and manufacturing as well as external suppliers to ensure proper implementation of product designs
• Existing security clearance
• Excellent written and verbal communication
