About This Role

Supervise quality control processes within a food manufacturing facility, ensuring products meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role involves training QC staff, conducting inspections, and maintaining food safety compliance to drive continuous quality improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train QC team members to ensure adherence to quality control processes and procedures
  • Conduct routine inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to verify compliance with specifications
  • Oversee and enforce proper sanitation, hygiene, and allergen control procedures within the facility
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality checks, inspections, and corrective actions
  • Investigate and address customer complaints related to product quality, working with internal teams to implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other regulatory agencies' guidelines
  • Operate and oversee the use of scanning and detection equipment to check for foreign materials in food products
  • Conduct weight, temperature, and packaging inspections to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring the facility is always prepared for regulatory inspections

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, food safety regulations, and industry best practices
  • Experience with HACCP, GMPs, and other food safety programs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in temperature-controlled environments, including cold storage areas
  • Ability to work around heavy machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors

Qualifications

  • Experience in quality control, food manufacturing, or warehouse environments preferred. Previous supervisory experience in a QC role is a plus.

  • Previous supervisory experience in a QC role
  • Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and HACCP regulations
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
