Quality Assurance Technician

About This Role

Monitor the manufacturing and packaging of food products to ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and product specifications are met for quality and food safety. This role involves inspecting the plant, verifying production processes, and documenting data.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production of food, including ingredient, lot code, and process verifications
• Measure product parameters such as weight, packaging, and sensory data to ensure specifications are met
• Initiate and release product/equipment holds for non-conformances or pending micro analysis
• Record product data in the Product Grading Spreadsheet and notify Bakery FSQ team of out-of-specification products
• Inspect all areas of the plant daily for equipment, storage, sanitation, maintenance, and GMP issues
• Monitor HACCP pre-requisite program compliance to ensure all processing practices comply with regulatory requirements
• Enforce current Good Manufacturing Practices and alert FSQ Supervisor to ongoing GMP issues
• Verify daily HACCP records, supervisor checks, pre-ops, oven time and temperature logs, Allergen Cleaning Forms, and sanitizer dilution monitoring
• Perform daily or weekly calibration verification for scales and thermometers and record data
• Perform monthly validation of metal detection and monitor pest control traps

Requirements

• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food safety or quality control preferred, but will train the right candidate.
