Psychiatrist

About This Role

The Psychiatrist will collaborate with the UCFS Behavioral Health Team to provide quality client-centered psychiatric care, including evaluations, follow-ups, and interventions for patients. This role involves developing and implementing patient treatment plans and maintaining accurate medical records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including ordering, performing, and interpreting screening and diagnostic procedures and tests
• Conduct routine follow-up visits for monitoring prescribed medication
• Conduct emergency consultation, evaluation, or follow-up visits as needed
• Provide treatment according to accepted agency standards, protocols, and policies
• Assist in the management of referred and/or complex problems
• Document assessment findings, treatment recommendations, and plans for continuing care in the clinical record
• Maintain productivity standards
• Collaborate with physicians, clinicians, other agency providers, clinical support staff, administrative staff, and community resources to meet patient and family needs
• Provide health promotion, education, and counseling for patients/families related to medication, diagnosis, health issues, and coping strategies
• Maintain accurate, legible medical records and return all assigned charts or patient data to medical records in a timely fashion

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine
• License or license eligible in the State of CT with appropriate prescribing credentials and licenses
• Relevant experience working with, evaluating and prescribing for clients with mental and behavioral health diagnosis
