Property Maintenance Assistant

About This Role

Effectively perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and grounds, ensuring a safe and functional environment for residents and maintaining outdoor spaces and community vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and grounds
• Inspect lighting, HVAC units, plumbing, safety equipment, and other areas regularly
• Assist residents with minor repairs and moves
• Maintain lawns, landscaping, outdoor areas, and community vehicles
• Troubleshoot maintenance problems and coordinate with vendors for complex repairs
• Ensure maintenance coverage for after-hours emergencies

Requirements

• Prior experience in building maintenance
• Knowledge of plumbing (commodes, fixtures, drains, heaters, dishwashers, ice machines)
• Knowledge of HVAC (operation/mechanics of heat pumps, refrigeration systems)
• Knowledge of electrical systems (wiring, voltage, amperage)
• Knowledge of mechanics (design and operation of engines)
• Ability to communicate clearly, use sound judgment, and handle emergencies effectively

Qualifications

• Prior experience in building maintenance (Assisted Living experience preferred)
