Project Lead

About This Role

This Project Lead role manages the planning, budget, schedule, and execution of single system design and development projects, ensuring compliance with contractual and technical requirements. The role coordinates internal teams and external vendors to achieve project and program deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of system project baseline documentation (budget, schedule, execution plan, deliverables, contractual elements)
• Coordinate inputs and performance commitments from Responsible Engineers and matrixed departments (Finance, Subcontracts/Procurement, Engineering, Licensing, Quality/Safety)
• Coordinate across related/dependent system projects with common customers, designs, and documentation
• Review and approve business analyses and make "make/buy" and subcontracting decisions, engaging in negotiations as needed
• Decide on technical approaches to achieve contract goals and requirements in line with project governance
• Manage performance of subcontractors, partners, and internal staff through reports, status meetings, documentation, and reviews
• Manage system project performance measures including risk, scheduling, document management, cost, and technical adherence
• Determine acceptability of system projects and deliverables based on acceptance criteria and project governance
• Actively support the safety culture and integrate quality into processes by complying with Quality Assurance Program requirements
• Maintain professional demeanor and behavior in all communications

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field
• 7+ years experience in engineering, project management, or related industry
• Experience as a technical lead, proposal manager, or pursuit lead
• Experience working under nuclear regulatory codes or another strict QA program (e.g., NQA-1, N299, ISO-9001)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field.
• 7+ years’ experience in engineering, project management, or related industry experience
