Provide civil engineering expertise for development plans and services within the city, ensuring compliance with local standards and regulations. This role involves reviewing and approving various development documents and representing Development Services in public forums.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve site plans for compliance with City standards, including stormwater management and erosion control, coordinating with applicants and consulting engineers
- Review and approve subdivision master plans, preliminary plats, and final plats for compliance with City standards, including stormwater and erosion control
- Review and approve access, traffic patterns, circulation, and traffic impacts for site plans and subdivisions
- Review and approve construction cost estimates for development projects for permitting fees, sureties, and bonds
- Review and approve permit applications for developments and construction
- Conduct pre-application, pre-construction, and construction progress meetings
- Provide engineering representation for Development Services before City Council, Planning Commission, and other city boards and public meetings
- Review and approve roadway and drainage construction plans for compliance with local, state, and federal standards
- Perform or review drainage impact studies to determine impact on drainage systems from development
- Review annexation requests, zoning requests, right-of-way, and easement requests and formulate recommendations to management and commissions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering or related Engineering field
- 6 years of relevant experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Tennessee or ability to obtain one
- Valid driver's license
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering or related Engineering field
- Six (6) years of relevant experience
