Production Scheduler

About This Role

This Production Scheduler role involves developing, publishing, and maintaining detailed production schedules in a manufacturing environment. The role optimizes efficiency, ensures adherence to safety standards, and coordinates across multiple departments to meet customer demands.

Responsibilities

• Develop, publish, and maintain detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, demand forecasts, inventory targets, and production capacity
• Sequence production runs to optimize efficiency while adhering to allergen control requirements, sanitation changeovers, and safety standards
• Adjust schedules in real time to account for equipment downtime, staffing constraints, material shortages, quality holds, or transportation issues
• Ensure schedule accuracy throughout the production cycle
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Quality, Warehouse, Procurement, and Transportation teams to ensure material availability and on-time execution
• Monitor finished goods, WIP, and raw material inventory levels to support production schedules and customer service and sales requirements
• Prepare and maintain reports and dashboards related to schedule adherence, production performance, capacity utilization, and inventory metrics
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance scheduling efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve service levels
• Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in production scheduling or planning within a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated experience working with production environments
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems
• Experience with production scheduling tools
• Strong background in inventory management and manufacturing operations
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to analyze data, identify risks, and make informed scheduling decisions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing production conditions
• Strong attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• 3–6 years of experience in production scheduling or planning within a manufacturing environment.
