Manage day-to-day production operations for an office furniture company, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery. Lead and develop a team, driving continuous improvement within the manufacturing department.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day production output and workflow, assigning work and setting priorities
- Manage the production schedule and short-term planning to meet ship dates and customer commitments
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop, enforcing procedures and best practices
- Ensure products meet Element's standards for accuracy and craftsmanship, addressing defects and preventing repeat issues
- Drive improvements in productivity, scrap/rework reduction, and equipment downtime through structured problem-solving
- Conduct regular floor walk-throughs to identify problems, remove roadblocks, and coach best practices
- Train, coach, and develop team leads and associates, supporting cross-training for flexibility
- Partner with Maintenance to schedule downtime, support preventative maintenance, and keep critical equipment operating reliably
- Coordinate with Sales/Customer Support, Engineering, and Shipping to align priorities and resolve material, capacity, and timeline issues
