Preconstruction Manager

About This Role

This on-site Preconstruction Manager role involves leading preconstruction efforts from early planning to project handoff within the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area. The role focuses on budgeting, planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and risk mitigation for various commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all preconstruction phases, including budgeting, planning, and scheduling
• Develop early cost estimates, value engineering strategies, and feasibility analyses
• Prepare detailed project scopes and review architectural drawings and specifications
• Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and internal project teams
• Identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks early in the project lifecycle
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality expectations
• Support a smooth transition from preconstruction to construction execution

Requirements

• Strong experience in preconstruction, project planning, budgeting, and risk assessment
• Proven expertise in cost estimating, value analysis, and scope development
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Strong experience in preconstruction, project planning, budgeting, and risk assessment
