The Pre-Sales Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing pre-sales technical support for complex products, applications, and solutions to State, Local, and Education customers, primarily focusing on the State Government business in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama. This role involves managing technical support, demonstrating solution capabilities against competitors, and collaborating with Territory Managers to drive sales.
Responsibilities
- Manage account and partner responsibilities for selected accounts in assigned territory.
- Provide the optimum combination of hardware, software, and services to meet complex customer needs.
- Play a role in the development of the bid, proposal, and presentation of the solution to the prospect.
- Perform technical presentations for customers, partners, and potential prospects.
- Manage vendor partners to help drive business and deliver demand generation events.
- Drive account relationships over time to continue to deliver advice to the customer and identify additional opportunities; maintain and manage a sales pipeline and forecasts against regional goals.
- Provide consultative support to key internal/external stakeholders in assigned territory.
- Provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations.
- Assist the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- 8+ years in security architecture, solution architecture, or related roles in large, complex enterprises.
- Deep experience with on-premises infrastructure security (data centers, networks, OT/ICS, mainframes, Windows/Linux servers).
- Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP) and hybrid architecture models.
- Detailed understanding of enterprise security domains: identity and access, network security, data protection, and application security.
- In-depth experience with security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, OWASP).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.

Nice to Have
- Certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF, CCSK, or CCSP are a plus.
