Postpartum Manager RN Evenings

About This Role

This role manages the daily operations and staffing of the Postpartum unit, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. The manager will operationalize evidence-based practices and improve patient safety and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department to ensure high quality, patient-centered care
• Monitor and evaluate the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures
• Hold staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives
• Operationalize evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes and ensure adherence to standards of care
• Support efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost
• Ensure a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care
• Support the achievement of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations
• Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
• Manage admissions and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care
• Facilitate effective interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments and ensure staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs
• Provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience
• Identify development opportunities or training needs of individual employees and teams

Requirements

• BSN
• 1+ year experience in healthcare
• 1+ year in supervisory role
• Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license
• BLS certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Specialty Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire

Qualifications

• BSN
• 1+ year experience in healthcare and 1+ year in a supervisory role

• ACLS certification
