The PET Scan Technician performs diagnostic imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring high-quality patient care, safety, and accurate imaging results. This role supports effective diagnosis and treatment planning in accordance with professional and departmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals per departmental and professional standards
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
- Operate PET and CT imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR)
- Respond effectively during crisis or emergency situations
- Complete Point of Care Testing training as part of department orientation
Requirements
- Competency in CT and PET imaging
Qualifications
- One year of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred
Nice to Have
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service orientation toward patients, team members, and visitors
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to lift patients up to 50 lbs
