Plant Finance Intern

About This Role

The Plant Finance Intern will support the Plant Controller with daily financial and operational reporting, gaining hands-on exposure to plant-level finance, cost accounting, and manufacturing operations. This role offers practical experience in data analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives within a manufacturing finance environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Plant Controller with monthly, weekly, and daily financial reports
• Support cost accounting activities, including tracking labor, material, and overhead costs
• Help analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecast
• Assist with inventory reporting, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities
• Prepare and maintain spreadsheets and dashboards to support plant performance metrics
• Support month-end close activities, including data collection and documentation
• Participate in plant meetings and learn how financial data supports operational decisions
• Assist with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as needed

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas)
• Ability to work with large data sets and maintain attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Interest in manufacturing, operations, or cost accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in Power BI
• Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards)
• Prior internship or coursework related to finance or accounting
