Plant Controller

About This Role

The Plant Controller oversees all financial activities for assigned manufacturing plants in a multi-site environment, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and effective cost management. This role partners with plant operations and corporate finance to support decision-making, drive operational efficiency, and ensure consistency across locations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the assigned plant within a multi-site structure
• Lead the monthly close process for the plant, coordinating timelines and requirements with corporate finance
• Maintain and analyze standard costs and job costing, including material, labor, and overhead
• Analyze manufacturing variances (PPV, usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption) and compare performance across sites
• Lead the annual budget and periodic forecast updates for the assigned plants within the broader multi-site planning process
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies across the plant
• Act as a financial business partner to the Plant Manager and operations leadership
• Collaborate with other site controllers and corporate finance to drive consistency, transparency, and best practices across locations
• Provide financial insights to support pricing, sourcing, make/buy decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Participate in cross-site finance initiatives, process standardization, and system improvements

Requirements

• 5+ years accounting/finance experience
• Knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing financial processes
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks
• Experience with ERP systems used in multi-site environments
• Advanced Excel skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5–10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including manufacturing or cost accounting

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in a multi-site manufacturing or matrixed organization
• Experience with BI or enterprise reporting tools
