This Occupational Health Nurse position safeguards the health and safety of Victaulic's manufacturing workforce by providing immediate medical response, managing workplace injuries, and leading wellness programs. The role focuses on clinical support, Workers' Compensation case management, and ensuring regulatory compliance within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site emergency care and medical treatment within written medical orders; manage chronic healthcare, provide medications, health assessments, and referrals; assist injured employees returning to work from medical leave.
- Manage Workers’ Compensation claims, including communication with the insurance provider, scheduling and reviewing treatment with doctors/hospitals, and informing employees of processes and appointments.
- Ensure safe and healthful working conditions in accordance with company safety rules, regulations, policies, and state & federal laws; participate in assigned safety meetings and incident investigations.
- Assist in planning, developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating occupational health and health promotion programs for the company collaboratively with other departments.
- Develop and maintain employee health records to ensure continuity of care, confidentiality, and feedback to management, in compliance with regulations and ethics.
- Perform worksite walk-through assessments to identify potential sources of illness and injury; monitor employee health and safety needs; contribute to the design of health controls for hazardous conditions.
- Provide individual counseling sessions on health maintenance, screening results, and health promotion; recommend, purchase, and maintain necessary medical supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with other occupational health team members; participate in continuing education to update knowledge of occupational health and safety, including legal regulations; deliver health and safety training.
- Coordinate medical support with local area healthcare providers for both onsite and offsite employee care.
- Actively participate in company process improvement initiatives focused on workplace efficiency, waste reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Maintain the OSHA 300 Logs and complete electronic submittals of injury logs as required by OSHA and state agencies.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associates degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program
- Computer literate with ability to use and prepare Excel spreadsheets and graphs, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint presentations
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associates degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program
- 3+ years of experience preferred
