Physical Therapist (Per Diem)

About This Role

This Per Diem Physical Therapist role involves evaluating, planning, directing, and administering physical therapy treatments to restore function and prevent disability for patients at St. Mary's Medical Center's Lavalette location.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer physical therapy treatments/modalities as prescribed by a licensed physician
• Administer treatments and physical agents to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability
• Assist patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of function
• Teach patients how to live within the limits of their capabilities
• Coordinate, delegate, and supervise responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (PTA's, rehabilitation techs, etc.)
• Participate in operational aspects of the department
• Maintain performance improvement activities within the department
• Participate in CQI activities
• Assist with monitoring budget guidelines
• Ensure patient charges are accurate and completed in a timely basis
• Participate in infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs
