Physical Therapist

About This Role

Manage the physical therapy of patients by evaluating their dysfunction, establishing a plan of care, and administering treatments to restore their abilities for daily activities. This role involves clinical testing, applying modalities, and implementing exercise programs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and interpret examination findings to determine the nature and extent of dysfunction
• Perform clinical testing to determine muscle strength, reflexes, sensation, coordination, range of motion, and other sensory motor skills
• Establish a plan of care to achieve established goals relative to age, medical history, and dysfunction
• Administer or prescribe modalities and other physical agents
• Administer or prescribe exercise programs and develop patient care programs
• Routinely take usual and special precautions relative to patient's age, medical history, condition, and treatment type
• Regularly reassess clinical signs and symptoms to determine effectiveness of treatment and progression towards goals
• Implement the treatment program through direct treatment of the patient
• Coordinate the treatment plan and participate in discharge planning with other healthcare personnel as appropriate
• Provide advice and education to patient and family
