Physical Therapist (Journey Travel)

About This Role

This Physical Therapist (Journey Traveler) role provides therapy programs and direct activities to promote and maintain health nationwide for 13-week assignments. This position offers flexibility to travel the country and work in various settings, serving older adults and children in diverse care environments.

Responsibilities

• Travel nationwide for 13-week assignments to various settings
• Assess the need for, develop, and deliver physical therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation
• Identify the need for and make referral(s) to other disciplines to address the comprehensive needs of patients
• Implement individualized therapy programs designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance
• Instruct, educate, and train patients and caregivers in skills and functions essential for promoting independence and productivity
• Direct activities to promote and maintain health
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards
• Ensure effective and efficient delivery of rehab services and adherence to an established plan of care
• Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other related meetings
• Consult with other members of the rehabilitation team to select appropriate therapeutic regimens
• Adapt program and/or plan of care according to the needs of individual patients
• Promote a safe environment and enforce the elimination of fire and safety hazards
• Screen, examine and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and application of appropriate tests and measures
• Develop appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with the patient and caregivers
• Implement the physical therapy treatment plan and complete all related documentation and record keeping
• Design, fabricate, fit and/or apply adaptive devices, and train patients in their use
• Perform routine reexamination as needed/required to modify/progress plan of treatment

Requirements

• Valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility
• Master's degree in Physical Therapy OR Master's degree in a Physical Therapy related field in addition to a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy OR Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience
• Availability to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of 'the therapists primary home
• For degrees earned outside the U.S., evaluation proving U.S. equivalent to a degree in Physical Therapy

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physical Therapy, OR Master's degree in a Physical Therapy related field in addition to a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, OR Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience. Qualifying Physical Therapy degree earned outside of the U.S. must be evaluated to be the U.S. equivalent.
