Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer physical therapy programs for patients, helping them restore function, prevent disability, and achieve maximum independence in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. This role involves planning and conducting PT programs and collaborating with clinical staff.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and establish appropriate patient care plans, including modalities, procedures, exercise programs, and patient education
- Gather and interpret appropriate data from medical records, physician reports, and patient/family input, and utilize assistive and orthotic devices
- Document evaluations, tests, progress notes, daily treatment notes, attendance records, patient/family education, outcomes, discharge notes, and charges
- Re-evaluate patients as needed, modifying goals and treatment plans based on changes in patient status
- Communicate patient evaluations and progress to physicians, referral sources, and other clinical staff
- Coordinate patient schedules, treatment programs, and discharge planning, recommending solutions to patient care problems
- Provide and document patient and family education regarding deficits, progress, therapeutic techniques, and individualized home programs, including equipment use
- Direct and supervise activities of Physical Therapist Assistants, Physical Therapy Technicians, students, and volunteers
- Assist with orienting new and rotating staff
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in PT from an accredited program
- Applicable state license for PT
- CPR Certification
- BLS
