About This Role

This role involves performing independent medical assessments for United States Veterans to determine disability benefits, focusing on medical fact-finding and investigative tasks rather than direct patient treatment. The Physiatrist will review medical records, conduct comprehensive assessments, and complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires.

Responsibilities

• Review medical health records through a secure Web Portal
• Perform a comprehensive assessment on each veteran
• Complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQ's) through the Web Portal
• Document exam findings needed by the VA through DBQ's
• Review and assess an average of 3 Veterans per day
• Spend at least 50% of the day reviewing medical records and electronically documenting exam findings
• Analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete DBQ's and form medical opinions
• Submit completed DBQ's within 24 hours after an exam

Requirements

• Current license as a Physiatrist
• Board Certified in Neurological Surgery, PM&R or Psychiatry and Neurology
• Proficient at finding key data points within large electronic medical records
• Able to analyze data from medical records and exam findings
• Typing skills
• Skilled at time management
