About This Role

Perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Provider as part of the VA's disability benefits process. This role involves reviewing health records, conducting comprehensive assessments, and completing Disability Benefit Questionnaires through a secure Web Portal.

Responsibilities

• Review medical health records through a secure Web Portal
• Perform a comprehensive assessment on each veteran
• Complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQ's) through the Web Portal
• Document exam findings needed by the VA
• Review and assess 3 Veterans per day on average

Requirements

• Current license as a Physiatrist
• Board Certification in Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology
• Interest in performing Independent Medical Assessments vs. traditional patient care & treatment
• Willingness to spend at least 50% of the day reviewing medical records and electronic documenting exam findings
• Proficient at finding key data points within large electronic medical records
• Ability to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete DBQ's and form medical opinions
• Typing skills
• Skilled at time management
• Ability to submit completed DBQ's within 24 hours after an exam
