About This Role

Plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in physical education for students, guiding them to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Responsibilities

• Understand and support the mission, vision and values of Harmony Public Schools
• Model and instill a love of learning in students
• Design and implement appropriate instruction in physical education in line with school standards, curriculum, and student needs
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials maximizing student engagement
• Utilize diverse teaching practices and methodologies to meet individual student needs
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Maintain discipline in accordance with school rules and disciplinary systems
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Attend department, school, district, and parent meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms
