Pharmacy Clerk

About This Role

Assist pharmacy staff in managing incoming prescriptions, delivering filled prescriptions to patients, and handling all cashier duties under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the triaging of incoming prescriptions
• Verify and gather necessary patient information including name, address, phone number, date of birth, allergies, chronic conditions, request for non-safety caps and insurance information
• Assess the workload, establish the prescription pick up time and queue the prescription for processing
• Assist in the delivery of prescriptions to the patient, including obtaining patient signatures
• Perform cash register duties within the Pharmacy Department
• Provide quality customer service to all customers
• Perform housekeeping duties necessary to maintain a professional environment
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all patient information
• Keep current with all State and Federal requirements as related to conditions of employment
• Perform all store clerk duties as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or currently enrolled) or GED

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or currently enrolled) or GED (AS Degree or Higher Preferred)
• Entry level with preferred hospital or retail pharmacy experience

Nice to Have

• AS Degree or Higher
• Hospital or retail pharmacy experience
• Registered with the State of Vermont as a Pharmacy Technician (for Vermont employees)
