Pharmacist

About This Role

This Pharmacist role involves dispensing cannabis products to medical patients, serving as the onsite medical authority, and providing education and counseling on appropriate dosage and product use. The position ensures patients receive correct treatment while adhering to state and federal regulations within the alternative medicine industry.

Responsibilities

• Be in-store at all times during scheduled shifts for cannabis product dispensation
• Assess patient certification to monitor restrictions and determine best treatment courses
• Drive retail sales and patient retention
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and federal/state laws
• Communicate restrictions with the dispensary team to manage product selection/quantity
• Provide timely and accurate medication information to patients in-person and over the phone
• Educate new and existing patients about the properties and benefits of cannabis
• Consult patients and assess certifications to recommend optimal treatment plans
• Stay updated on current research and information related to cannabis/marijuana
• Assist with additional dispensary tasks as assigned by the store manager, including deliveries, inventory, and order fulfillment

Requirements

• Must be a registered and licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the state of operations
• 2+ years of relevant pharmacy experience with an excellent patient and customer focused approach
• Ability to learn and understand cannabinoids and their interaction with the human body
• Previous experience utilizing Point of Sale technology systems
• Working knowledge of inventory and sales reporting
• Solid understanding of Cannabis laws, rules and regulations
• Must pass any and all required background checks
• Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
• Must possess valid driver's license
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
• Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant pharmacy experience with a patient and customer focused approach
