Provide personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. This role involves one-on-one counseling, conducting briefings, and providing referral resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
- Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
- Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families.
- Coordinate, publicize and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
- Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications).
- Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations.
- Participate in regular in-services/training, quality improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned/appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Associate's with 4 years experience or High School Diploma with 6 years experience)
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience
- U.S. citizen
- Fluent English speaker
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation
- Ability to pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process
- One of the following certifications: AFC, CFP, or ChFC
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
