This role is for a Registered Nurse to perform initial and annual evaluations for individuals applying for personal care services, ensuring compliance with MassHealth regulations. The nurse will work with children and adults with disabilities to support their independence within a unique community-based program. This position requires local travel.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and annual reevaluations of members applying for personal care services in accordance with MassHealth regulations.
- Submit completed evaluations within specified timeframes.
- Respond to hours adjustment requests and MassHealth inquiries in a timely manner, providing professional input.
- Schedule reevaluation visits and update calendar accordingly.
- Document progress notes in the database in a timely manner.
- Communicate with PCA Evaluation Department Assistants regarding various member statuses and concerns.
- Submit monthly mileage sheets within the required timeframe.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the PCA Program.
- Communicate with Supervisor and Office Staff regarding arising issues.
- Interact with Tempus Unlimited, Inc. offices to resolve evaluation-related concerns and support consumer independence.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Report suspicion of fraud to the PCM Management Team.
- Report all suspected abuse or neglect to appropriate agencies like DPPC, Executive Office of Elder Affairs, or Department of Children and Families.
- Represent the agency professionally and provide culturally sensitive services.
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts license to practice as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the Board
- 2 years recent experience in the direct care of disabled individuals or elderly population
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions
- Ability to independently organize work and meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task in a busy environment

Qualifications
- 2 years recent experience working with direct care of disabled individuals or elderly population
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Familiarity with MassHealth PCA Program
- Fluency in other languages
