The Peer Support Specialist supports individuals in their recovery through individual and group meetings, providing information, dispelling myths, and inspiring hope. This role also assists with care coordination.
Responsibilities
- Meet individually and in groups to facilitate recovery through providing education and inspiring hope
- Serve as a role model
- Assist in care coordination
- Assist in conducting peer support activities and support groups
- Attend treatment team meetings as requested and share information gathered from patients to assist with the development and updating of treatment plans
