This role is responsible for safely and timely transporting patients to and from clinical units and various diagnostic/treatment areas, ensuring a high level of customer service. You will coordinate patient transport activities, manage equipment distribution, and assist with emergent situations.
Responsibilities
- Transport patients in a safe and timely manner as directed by medical professional staff and established policies and procedures
- Complete all training requirements and attend in-service education and scheduled departmental staff meetings for transportation planning and initiatives
- Support patient throughput and hospital capacity initiatives by using transport software, to facilitate timely patient transports
- Coordinate activities in the discharged patient holding area
- Handle portable oxygen cylinders safely
- Obtain transport equipment for transport
- Receive and document patient transportation assignments
- Perform equipment functions such as receiving, counting, stocking, transporting, cleaning and sanitizing medical equipment
- Take excess oxygen tanks to appropriate storage areas and ensure oxygen tanks are in appropriate holders
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to demonstrate the importance of and ability to provide a high level of customer service
- Ability to display a compassionate, positive, and upbeat disposition in interactions with customers/patients
- Ability to multi-task and take initiative
- BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association within 180 Days
