Patient Escort - Patient Transportation

About This Role

As a Patient Escort, you will be part of a team that ensures seamless transitions for patients between appointments, procedures, and care areas at MD Anderson Cancer Center. You will support clinical teams by transporting patients, specimens, medical records, and equipment, contributing to a patient-centered care environment.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, specimens, medical records, and expired patients safely and efficiently
• Assist clinical staff in transferring patients to and from beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs
• Meet departmental productivity and compliance standards
• Provide compassionate and professional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff
• Inspect equipment before and after use and remove defective items from service
• Tag malfunctioning equipment for repair and notify appropriate personnel
• Clean and disinfect equipment before and after each use
• Return equipment to proper storage locations and maintain working knowledge of all tools
• Use required technology accurately to receive and complete assignments
• Complete all required annual trainings, including Infection Control, Hand Hygiene, Age-Appropriate Care, Customer Service, and Employee Education Events

Nice to Have

• One year of patient care or customer service experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
