About This Role

This role is responsible for providing an outstanding and welcoming experience for patients in an ophthalmic medical and surgical practice, focusing on customer service, administrative tasks, and patient coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a personalized and friendly patient experience during registration, including greeting patients, updating demographic and financial information, and collecting co-pays
  • Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions, assisting with paperwork and managing dynamic or escalated situations with professionalism and empathy
  • Schedule provider appointments, obtain pre-certifications and prior authorizations, and coordinate interpreters as needed
  • Process payments accurately, issue receipts, and complete all required documentation
  • Balance daily cash transactions and maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare and maintain electronic medical records and registration materials in accordance with company policies
  • Ensure full compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient information
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and waiting area
  • Operate and maintain office equipment and manage supply inventory, and ordering

Requirements

  • Strong customer service mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math proficiency and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, G-Suite, and Windows-based systems
  • Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to support all areas of the practice
  • Effective problem-solving and time management skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of general office experience; healthcare experience preferred

  • Refractive experience
