About This Role

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) I supports patient care by ensuring comfort and safety, following TCH's model of care, which emphasizes collaboration between patients, families, and healthcare teams. This role involves performing clinical tasks delegated by a Registered Nurse, ensuring patient and unit safety, and providing patient comfort and hygiene. The PCA also communicates with patients and families to orient them to the hospital environment and facilitate communication throughout hospitalization.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical tasks assigned by the RN, adhering to Ohio Board of Nursing delegation guidelines
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Ensure patient and unit safety
• Provide patient comfort and hygiene, documenting according to policy
• Orient patients and families to the hospital environment
• Facilitate communication throughout the hospitalization process

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 0-1 Years of Experience
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
