Parts Sales Worker

About This Role

This role involves selling truck parts and accessories to customers and providing necessary products for vehicle repairs to mechanics, ensuring efficient and profitable operations of the dealership's parts department.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and mechanics, assess parts needs, and provide prompt, courteous service
• Identify, locate, and pull parts from inventory to fulfill orders accurately
• Use parts catalogs and computer systems to determine correct part numbers and pricing
• Advise customers on suitable part substitutions or modifications
• Receive and process telephone and in-person orders, prepare sales invoices, and handle payments
• Maintain accurate records of parts sales, inventory levels, and customer interactions
• Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in stock management
• Examine returned parts for defects and process exchanges or refunds
• Assist in merchandising parts displays and maintaining cleanliness and organization
• Collaborate with mechanics and service department personnel to facilitate efficient repair operations

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to quickly learn and operate dealership's business and inventory systems
• Strong customer service skills and effective communication abilities
• Basic math skills
• Ability to read and interpret parts catalogs and computer displays
• Reliable and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Legal authorization to work in the country

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or higher preferred
• Previous Parts Sales Experience (preferred, but not required)
