About This Role

Join ENERCON as a Part-Time Principal Electrical Engineer, contributing expertise to critical projects on a flexible schedule of 30 hours or less per week. Shape innovative solutions that drive innovation and reliability across the energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across disciplines, ensuring seamless integration and coordination across all project disciplines
  • Develop innovative design studies, define project scopes, and create accurate engineering estimates
  • Draft detailed specifications for electrical equipment, evaluate technical bids, and select top-tier solutions
  • Execute essential electrical calculations that form the foundation of successful designs and installations
  • Bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to solve complex technical challenges
  • Travel to project sites, conduct walkdowns, oversee installations, and support start-up activities
  • Foster a positive, goal-oriented environment with motivational leadership style, empowering teams to achieve success
  • Mentoring junior employees

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in one of the following industries: engineering/design services, power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial (chemical or pulp & paper), and government (DOE) projects
  • Experience in electrical codes, standards and criteria for power systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
  • Ability to perform plant walkdowns
  • Ability to get badged at a nuclear facility
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in engineering/design services, power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial, or government projects

Nice to Have

  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of electrical calculations
  • Mentorship experience or a desire to mentor early to mid-career engineers
